About
A daily vehicle check you can do with one thumb
Roadmela is a free inspection checklist for cars, pickups, vans and vehicles towing a trailer. Drivers mark each item pass, defect or N/A, rate whether a defect still allows the vehicle to be driven, add photos, and record the driver and repair sign-off. The finished sheet can be printed, downloaded as a PDF or exported as CSV, and saved to a history list on the device.
How the checklist was put together
The check items follow the parts list in the US FMCSA driver vehicle inspection report rule (49 CFR 396.11 and 396.13, eCFR read 21 October 2026) and the DVSA daily walkaround guides for vans and HGVs and trailers. Items named in those lists carry an FMCSA or DVSA tag.
What it is not
It does not replace a legally required inspection record and does not decide whether a vehicle is roadworthy. Requirements depend on the vehicle, the operation and the jurisdiction, so follow your local regulations and your employer's procedure.
Local by design
Everything is processed in your browser. Drafts, photos and history are kept in this browser's local storage; see Privacy.
A full JSON backup carries the current inspection, saved reports and photos to another browser or domain. Review it before restoring: it replaces that browser’s records rather than merging them. Keep the downloaded file private.
Roadmela is an independent browser tool. It was called Vehicle Check at its previous address.
